Instructions

This is a variation of the woven stitch. In the first step fill the area with long straight stitches. In the second step, weave using a contrasting colour. The woven chevron pattern is created by weaving over two, under one, and shifts in each row. The pattern for how wide the zigzag is is included in the pattern instructions. This video illustrates how the weaving is done.

When weaving on an angle, like in the balcony pattern, placing the initial turquoise stitches can be challenging. Watch the video to see the angle of the stitches. The pattern will start to emerge after a few rows, it's normal for the first few rows of light green to feel complicated! Tip: keep a tiny space between your initial blue stitches to make the weaving in step two easier.
